There are several online real estate websites in India. These sites host over 1,000,000 property advertisements at any point. With the online medium gaining popularity this number is likely to grow further. With the objective to educate the online users, Makaan.com the fastest growing online property sites in India, conducted a study to answer the question “How to generate higher response from your online property advertisement?” The study (conducted during Oct-Nov'09) analysed the advertisements (property listings) that got higher response versus listings that did not.

 

It was observed that most advertisements (property listings) that got higher response has the following details

 

1) Description of Property – The property advertisement carried a brief description of the listed property. The description contained salient features of the property and it's surroundings areas.

2) Complete Address Details – The advertisements carried precise address of the property (it was not kept vague).

3) Property Image – Image / Picture of the property was displayed in the listing.

4) Amenities – Details of all the amenities (for example parking facility, security, power back up) were mentioned in the advertisement.

 

It was observed that same property listed by different brokers / agents received different response even though there was no significant difference in the advertised price. The findings are shared with the users so that they can benefit from it.
