With Bopal set to come under the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's (AMC's) limits in January 2020, buyerds and investors who have properties in the area have a reason to cheer. The development would open new avenues for infrastructure development in the area, thereby imporving liveabilty at Bopal. Along with Bopal, Ghuma and Shela will also be merged with the AMC. At present, these areas fall under the jurisdiction of the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA).

Infrastructure development in Bopal

With rapid real estate development in Bopal, infrastructure in the area falls short of expectations. Lack of solid waste management, poor sewerage systems and other administrative problems; it is hoped, these problems will be solved once the AMC takes over. While connectivity is one of the major USPs of Bopal, last-mile connectivity could further improve as the new administration takes over. Moreover, new projects for supplying drinking water to various colonies in the area, are also being planned.

With the increasing migrant population in Bopal, due to its proximity to the business hub of Prahlad Nagar and SG Highway, the area has seen significant real estate development, with the participation of all major developers in the city and the state. There are over 100 housing projects, which are ready-to-move-in in the area and 20 are under construction. Bopal offers apartments, villas, as well as builder floors, at an average price of Rs 3,519 per sq ft.

Also, property prices have risen in the past few years, due to improved amenities and connectivity in the area. Bopal also has all essential services such as hospitals, banks, schools, shopping complexes, as well as multiplex, within its proximity. Ahmedabad Metro’s East-West corridor is likely to be operational in 2020 and Bopal’s nearest metro station would be 5 kms away. This metro route would connect the area with main hubs of Ahmedabad in the eastern part of the city, such as the Old High Court area, Apparel Park, Navrangpura and Khadia.
